[International i Journal = Journalist Yeo, Im Seongsil & Ma Hyesung in Gyeongsangbuk-do, Korea] Mungyeong City held 'The 19th Mungyeong Traditional Chasabal Festival' at the Mungyeong outdoor performance hall for 7 days from April 29 to show the unique performances such as the beautiful Chatjari Hanmadang, Seonjo Sagijang, and Chumoheondarye.

The Mungyeong Traditional Chasabal Festival, which was first held in 1999, has played a major role in informing the culture, tourist attractions, and specialties of Mungyeong using traditional ceramics of the Mungyeong province as a medium.

Holding the festival at the Mungyeong Saemae Open Set which is a set building of the Koryo Dynasty and the Joseon Dynasty since 2009, it was well received as a festival venue that is blended well with Chasabal, one of the traditions of Korea and the beauty of Korea such as palaces and tiled houses, and this year, it showed its first appearance as a representative festival of Korea.

Unlike last year, this year’s festival made more positive efforts in expanding experience programs and attracting domestic and foreign tourists by promoting the participation of potters and fortifying the vehicle support for tourists.

As experience events, Chasabal Making for ceramics jiggering experience, Chasabal Painting, and One Day at Sagijang (Ceramics Workshop) were prepared.

Experience programs for family tourists are also more diversified, and Busking concerts, the street performance breathing with the audience, were also given at 3 additional places.

Mungyeong City Mayor Go Yun-hwan said, "The 2017 Mungyeong Traditional Chasabal Festival, titled "Dream of Mungyeong Chasabal! Captures the World", is a festival where a five sense satisfaction program is prepared and therefore not only the people who love tea and ceramics but also everybody can enjoy together” and “We are now doing our best to make a visit that you will never regret".

He added, "We will make this festival the number one among global traditional culture festivals by gathering everyone's dreams".
