[International i Journal = Reported by Kim Dae-yeon, Yeo, Eui-bong, and Lim Seong-sil from Gyeongsangbuk-do, Korea] The ‘Sutosa Waterway Reproduction’ experience event that was planned to reproduce the ceremony held before Sutosa put out to sea to protect Ulleungdo and Dokdo in the Joseon Dynasty against Japanese raiders was held on 12th in the Kusan Port area, Uljin-gun, Korea.
Starting in 2011, this event has been held for 6 years, and Sutosa Masquerade has been held from 2015.
At the experience event on that day, 80 people from Jukbyeon High School and the Navy were dressed up as a seaman in the Joseon Dynasty including Wolsongmanho, and vividly reproduced the appearance of Sutosa from the time they left Wolseongpojin Castle until they reached Daepungheon at Kusan Port.
Uljin County, who has been an administration agency of Ulleungdo and Dokdo, organized ‘Uljin Sutosa's Descendent Group’ with 50 students and 2 teachers from Jukbyeon High School and make them harden their will of territory protection while exploring the historic sites that had been visited by Sutosas until 15th.

In relation to Sutosa, Uljin County Governor, Lim Gwang-won said, "Uljin people played a guardian role for Dokdo, while entering Ulleungdo and Dokdo from the ancient time to the Joseon era," said Uljin. He added, “We are going to develop Uljin County which had been a base for our territory, Ulleungdo and Dokdo, as a training ground for Dokdo history experience.”
Located in the northeast edge of Gyeongsangbuk-do, Uljin County is bordering Samcheok City in the north, Bonghwa-gun in the west, and Yeongdeok-gun in the south. It is one of the representative clean areas not only for its abundant tourist attractions such as Seongryugul (cave), Deokguoncheon and Baekamoncheon (hot springs), and Bulyeongsa (temple) but also for its fresh seafood such as snow crabs.
