[International i Journal = Journalist Yeo, Lim Sungsil & Ma Hyesung in Gyeongsangbuk-do, Korea] Gumi City hosted ‘3DPIA 2017’, Asia's largest 3D printing user conference & exhibition at Gumiko, located in Gumi-shi, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Korea for 3 days from May 25.

With a slogan, ‘The 4th Industry Revolution, led by 3D Printing’, this is the largest conference and exhibition for professional 3D printing users in Asia and sized 121 booths from 71 companies.


The opening ceremony took place at a special stage installed at the exhibition hall on the 2nd floor of Gumiko at 11pm on the 25th. In addition, a 3D printing converged fashion show was held for the first time in Korea where the 3D printing technology met the fashion.


On the 27th, '3D Printing BizCon Competition' was held where many prizes including the grand prize, ‘Prize of Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy’ were awarded, various supports such as investor introduction were provided, and the prizewinning works were exhibited in the hall.


Mayor Nam Yu-jin said, "The 3D printing industry is an infrastructure essential for Gumi City as it is a core technology based on ICT convergence, a typical 4th industry, and this event will be more meaningful as it can gather the ability and interest of not only Korea but also other Asian countries.”
