The Solution to the Job Crisis, <Youth Job Experience Program>

The youth unemployment is one of the main obstacles for the social evolution. President Park Geun-hye said, "We will intensively promote the five promising service industries like health and medical treatment, which has higher job creation capacity and are preferred by the youth". The health and medical treatment field now holds the limelight considering the investment activation policy of government and the comments of the president.

Daegu health college got an "excellent" grade in a evaluation of "Youth job experience program operating institutions" under the auspices of the ministry of employment and labor on Monday, Jan 6, 2014. The undergraduates and the graduates have a job experience at industries and institutions through the "Youth job experience program" commissioned by the ministry of employment and labor.

Daegu Regional Ministry of employment and labor confirmed that Daegu Health College got the highest grade among the 28 outstanding institutions of Daegu-Gyeongsangbukdo region. Training institution pioneering effort, essay contest and casebook publishing, and the preliminary on-the-job training are presented as an excellent case.

The 42-year-tradition of integrated health education, strong at the state examination

Daegu Health College introduced the first integrated health education among colleges, which can help improve employment and medical service. The education integrates the contents of physical cure, clinical pathology, radiology, operation treatment, health administration department. With this education, students can learn more about cooperation and understanding of patients.

Students who finished integrated education said that they improved on adaptability, confidence, and patient-centered thinking ability. Also, their state exam results surpassed those of national average. The accumulating knowledge of 42 years has worked well.

Becoming a world-class health college

The Global Talent Cultivating Camp started 5 years ago is worthy of notice. 45 Students from 10 countries such as Canada, England, Thailand debate on main issues, and develop a global leadership.

The laboratory of college is spotlighted for a practical testing place, because it meets the difficult conditions required by testing institution. 대구보건대, 뛰어난 교육인프라 바탕 청년 취업난 해결사

청년직장체험프로그램으로 취업난 해소

[국제i저널 = 대구 여의봉, 최웅비 기자] 청년 취업난 문제는 사회 발전의 커다란 걸림돌 중의 하나이다. 피부로 직접 느낄만한 해결 방안을 찾기도 어려운 상황이다. 이에 대해 박근혜 대통령은 신년 기자회견에서 “고용창출력이 높고 청년이 선호하는 보건의료 등 5대 유망서비스 산업을 집중 육성할 것”이라고 밝혔다. 정부가 올해 내놓은 보건의료서비스 분야 투자활성화대책과 박근혜 대통령의 언급을 고려하면, 보건의료 분야가 각광받고 있음을 알 수 있다.

대구보건대학교(총장 남성희)는 고용노동부 주최 2013년 청년직장체험프로그램 운영기관 평가에서 1월 6일 평가결과 “우수” 통지를 받았다. 청년직장체험프로그램은 고용노동부가 대학 등에 위탁하여 재학생 및 졸업생을 대상으로 산업체와 기관에서 직장체험을 하도록 하는 사업이다.

대구지방고용노동청 대구서부지청의 확인 결과 우수 기관 중에서도 가장 높은 점수를 받아 대구경북 28개 기관 중 1위를 차지했다. 기본적인 평가 내용 외에 연수기관 개척 노력, 자체 수기공모전과 사례집 발간, 효율적인 사전직무연수교육 실시 등이 우수사례로 소개됐다.

42년 전통 보건통합교육, 국가고시에서 강세

대구보건대학교에서 전문대학 최초로 선보인 보건통합교육은 학생 취업 및 의료서비스 향상에 도움을 준다. 물리치료과, 임상병리과, 방사선과, 간호학과, 작업치료과, 보건행정과 등 6개 학과의 주요 임상내용을 조합한 학습프로그램을 통해 학생들이 자신의 전공 분야실습 뿐만 아니라 병원의 다른 부서가 하는 일을 경험하며 부서 협조와 환자에 대한 이해력을 높일 수 있도록 한다.

실제로 보건통합교육을 받은 학생들은 임상업무 적응력 향상, 현장 업무의 자신감, 환자중심의 통합 사고력이 향상됐다고 대답했으며, 최근 이 교육을 받은 간호학과 졸업생 26명은 서울대학교병원, 고려대학교병원 등 대학병원에 전원 취업했고 물리치료과 20명도 서울미소들병원 등 대형전문병원에 전원 취업했다.

또한, 보건계열의 모든 학과는 한국보건의료인국가시험원에서 시행한 2013년 국가고시에서 전국평균보다 최고 20% 상회하는 등 매우 우수한 성적을 거둔 것으로 나타났다.

이렇게 높은 합격률에는 42 년간 축적된 국가고시 대비 시스템이 크게 작용한 것으로 나타났다.

세계적인 보건대학으로 발돋움

5년 전부터 시행 중인 글로벌인재양성캠프도 주목할 만하다. 이 프로그램을 통해 캐나다, 영국, 태국, 일본 등 10개국 45명의 대학생들이 참가하여 지구촌사회 등 주요이슈에 대해 토론하고 글로벌 리더십을 개발할 수 있다.

한편, 대구보건대학교 학과 실습실은 각종 실기 시험 장소로 각광받고 있다. 보건복지부를 비롯한 각 시험을 주관하는 기관에서 요구하는 까다로운 조건에 부합하기 때문이다. 학교를 방문한 외부인들은 뛰어난 교육환경에 찬사를 보내며 재학생들을 부러워하고 있다. 늘 실습하던 장소에서 시험을 치르는 이점이 있기 때문이다.
