[IIJ= Gyeongsangbuk-do Reporter, Euibong Yeo, Sunho Lee] In commemoration of the 60th of Korea Girls’ Scout Gyeongsangbuk-do Association, the jamboree, which domestic and foreign girls’ scout members participated, was held from 29th for 4 days at Gyeongju Hwarang Education Center with 600s of the scout members and their leaders including 200s of foreign scout members from5 countries such as Japan, Taiwan, Philippine, Thailand, and so on.

With the theme of “Best Life, Best Friend”, this event was the stage for domestic and foreign young people to communicate through a variety of programs which consist of 4 kinds of main activities such as Permanent Activities, Inner-camp Activities, Outer-camp Activities, Moonlight Trip and various experience-based activities and special events.

Permanent Activity, one of the 4 main programs, is for scout members to experience traditional play like Tangram, and Inner-camp activity is making traditional patterned jeolpyeon which is pounded rice cake, getting accustomed to K-Pop Dance directly.

Also, through Outer-camp activities and Moonlight Trip, the scout members could have a time to tour, with the theme of “Finding the Heritage of the Three States” Bulguksa Temple, Seokguram Grotto, and Poseokjung Pavilion in Gyeongju where the history and culture of 1 thousand of Silla indwell

In addition, the special events consist of the reception, opening ceremony, International Friendship Night, closing ceremony, and so on. Every day, the events with other theme performed for 3 nights 4 days schedule. After the whole schedule, scout members and their leaders from all over the world understood each culture mutually and foreign girls’ scout members stayed for 3 days in home-stay house to share friendships and meaningful memories.
